EP display flags dual-purpose merits

Welcome to the 2015 EP Merino & Poll Merino Ram selling season, with about 250 rams on display at Wudinna and about 2,000 rams at auctions and at private selection during the year.
On Monday July 6th., our association will be holding its annual Merino and Poll Merino Expo at Wudinna, following-on from the success of the previous years. Eyre Peninsula has become a very popular area to source top genetics from in recent years. I am sure your sire requirements can be sourced from our members' studs.
With a top season experienced last year, the display of rams promises to be of very high standard. Given the uncertainty of gross margins of cropping, our dual purpose EP Merinos and Poll Merinos have come to the forefront of profitability as they are early maturing and produce heavy carcase and fleece weights.
I believe the future of our true dual purpose Merino has never been better, with demand for meat and wool increasing and prices for wether lambs and excess sheep reasonable prices. I would like to congratulate our members for their dedication to the Merino industry.
The results from the 2014 ram selling season are on the board. I would like to personally invite you to our annual expo at Wudinna, inspection days and annual ram sales later in the year.
On behalf of the Association, I would like to acknowledge the generous support of our major sponsors Elders and gold sponsor Landmark and our silver and bronze sponsors. Please support the sponsors that support us.
I wish all members a successful ram selling season in 2015 in what I expect to be a successful year for all involved.
