Hilton Heath Merino/Poll Merino studs are run on properties at Sanderston in the Adelaide Hills and Keith in the South East with rainfall in the 300mm – 425mm range. The sheep are bred to be large framed and robust whilst producing quality fleeces with high fleece weight in the 19-21 micron range. The inclusion of new sires purchased in recent times include Greenfields, Collinsville and Poll Bonook. These sires were selected for their growth rates, supple skins and quality fleeces. The criteria of selecting sheep for long staple with white stylish wool on correct large frames gives us an animal that is highly productive for both today’s meat and wool markets.

Most rams are sold by private treaty with select rams sold at the Adelaide Ram Sale. Inspections and enquiries are most welcome anytime both through stock agents and privately.

2011 matings for 2012 sale rams include:

•Poll Merino: Moorundie Park K1, Nyowee, Greenfields, Hilton Heath, Calcookara “Garrett”, and Collinsville Poll

All sale rams are sold with current figures available at selection time. The classing of sheep and hoggets is also available on request for clients. Inspection of our sheep can be made at Mid North, South East and Mallee Field Days, as well as Bendigo and Adelaide Shows, where  cross selection of animals will be on display.
