Radnor Merino Stud was founded in 1982. The current drop is from sires which originate from; Radnor, Charinga, Collinsville, and Orrie Cowie Studs. Radnor Poll merino Stud was founded in 1985. Sires, or utilisation of artificial insemination have been; Moorundie Park, Collinsville, Walladale, Wallaloo Park, and Radnor’s own sires.
The aim of the Stud is to produce a true dual-purpose animal which can survive and thrive, display good size, bone structure and constitution, yet produce a high-quality, long-stapled white, crimpy wool which is high yielding. This wool is highly sought after by manufacturers.
Radnor has had some encouraging Show results in recent times, including the most successful livestock exhibitor at the Royal Adelaide Show twice. In 2011, Radnor won Junior Champion Ewe and Zone 4 Wool Champion. In 2010, Radnor Dangerfield p89, 17.7 mic, 2.9 SD, 16.4 CV, 99.8 CF, 108 BW, 44 EM was second in the Fibre Meat Plus Class at Adelaide Show, and first in the Group of Three Fibre Meat sponsored by Landmark. Radnor Maric HB Z9 Tag 459 20.2 mic, 3.1 SD, 15.3 CV, 99.6 CF, first in the 2-Tooth Strong Wool Australian Merino All-Purpose at Bendigo Sheep Show. Both rams retained for Stud.
