Dalveen Poll Merino stud will be holding its 42nd annual ram sale at Woodchester on Tuesday, July 31, when 100 April/May 2010-drop rams of Moorundie Park bloodlines will be offered at auction. The stud is producing a plainer-type Merino to that of the past while keeping the large frames and wool-producing traits needed for the current industry. Maintaining the medium wool on a large frame and sound structure has produced versatile and durable sheep for self-replacing Merino flocks and surplus ewes for prime lamb production. Dalveen is currently selling rams to the Adelaide Plains, Murray Bridge and Mallee, Keith and Upper South East, Mid North, pastoral areas of South Australia and Broken Hill.
