Moorundie Park Poll Merino Stud was founded by Eric Davidson and rams are now sold to all mainland states. Moorundie Park sheep are noted for their large frames and free-growing white wool. A micron reduction program has been highly successful, allowing the stud to focus on other important attributes such as fertility, early maturity and easycare properties. Extensive AI programs to both Moorundie Park and carefully selected outside sires are helping achieve these goals. The measure of its success has been the excellent results achieved by its clients who consistently feature in all regional livestock markets, with some managing to top their market. Results at wool sales have been equally impressive. Rams are sold to all Merino-breeding areas in Australia by private treaty sales and about 30 rams are reserved for the Adelaide Ram Sale in September.
