Come and see the quality of Yorke Peninsula Rams

The Yorke Peninsula Merino Breeders extend a warm welcome to breeders and visitors to its field day events that include general displays and auctions.
It is wonderful to see that young ewes are continually setting exceptionally high prices at the sale yards. Meat prices also continue to be high. Wool prices in the past 12 months have gone from strength to strength. Prices in wool and ewes remain high and makes the farmer have an extra incentive to continue breeding sheep.
Yorke Peninsula Merino Breeders continue to buy quality rams and semen from the best sources to ensure that they are breeding sheep that make dollars for you, the client.
We are proud of the sheep we produce on Yorke Peninsula and the Merino breeders continue to provide new genetics for the clients who continue supporting their local Merino breeders.
A sincere ‘thank you’ to our individual sponsors for their ongoing support. We look forward to seeing you at our field days so you can experience the Yorke Peninsula hospitality.

Eyre Peninsula Merino and Poll Pre-Sale Expo

Wudinna Showground Sheep Pavillion
When: Monday 9th July 2018
Times: From 10am. Food  & refreshments available.

On Monday July 9, our association will be holding its annual Merino and Poll Merino Expo at Wudinna with about 200 rams on display.

Eyre Peninsula continues to be a popular area to source genetics. I am sure your sire requirements can be sourced from our members' studs.

The dual purpose EP Merinos and Poll Merinos continue to lead the way for profitability with early maturing progeny that produce heavy carcase and fleece weights.

I believe the future of our true dual purpose Merino has never been better, with strong meat and wool prices. I would like to congratulate our members for their dedication to the Merino industry.

I would like to personally invite you to our annual expo at Wudinna, inspection days and annual ram sales later in the year.

On behalf of the Association, I would like to acknowledge the generous support of our major sponsors Elders and gold sponsor Landmark and our silver and bronze sponsors. Please support the sponsors that support us.

I wish all members a successful ram selling season in 2018 and a successful year for all involved in the industry.

Chris Prime, President

Eyre Peninsula Stud Merino Breeders Association.

South East Merino Field Day

What: South East Merino Field Day
Where: Keith Stadium, on-property
When: Wednesday, 25 July 2018

On behalf of the South East Stud Merino Breeders it gives me great pleasure to invite anyone interested in the sheep industry to visit the 2018 South East Merino Field Day at Keith and surrrounding areas in July.

The vast majority of participating studs and service industries will have displays undercover in the Keith Indoor Stadium. There will also be food and drinks available at this venue, allowing you to fully enjoy the day regardless of the prevailing weather conditions.

Also, to be able to talk to, question and tap into the progressive knowledge of the many individual breeders within the group presents a wonderful opportunity to advance your own breeding program.

The exceptional sale results achieved by memebers within the SE group in recent years, along with the outstanding commercial quality being presented annually at the local off-shears sales, vindicates our belief that the genetic quality available within our region is as good as you will see anywhere in the country.

Both the wool and sheep markets are at unprecedented highs at present, with market indicators giving a very positive outlook. This is certainly a time that Merino sheep producers can invest in top genetics with the utmost confidence.

As a group we are proud of the quality we will showcase and I will say "If you only go to one Merino field day this year, make it this one".

Great sheep, great venue, great day.

Karoonda and Districts Field Day

Murray Bridge Show Grounds
When: Friday 27th July 2018

Karoonda and Districts Stud Merino Field Day Association will hold its feature event at Murray Bridge Showground on Friday 27th of July from 10am – 4pm, approx 80km from Adelaide.

This year is shaping up to be one of the best stock years on record. The wool and meat prices are great news for our dual purpose Mallee Merinos. Young ewes, old ewes and wool are at all-time highs.

The Karoonda & Districts Stud Merino Field Day Group is well aware of this and has been breeding sheep for all climatic conditions to produce profits for Merino breeders. All the best for inspection days and ram sales throughout 2018.
Let's all stay positive and continue to grow our industry as a whole.
This year's Karoonda & District Stud Merino Field Day will be held at the Murray Bridge Showgrounds, where big, robust meaty wool-cutters will be on display. Lunch and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
As a group we welcome anyone from anywhere to come and inspect the magnificent drop of up-and-coming sires.
All enquiries welcome on 0423 065 513
