Yorke Peninsula Field Days
When: Late-July to Mid-August
Come and see the quality of Yorke Peninsula Rams
The Yorke Peninsula Merino Breeders extend a warm welcome to breeders and visitors to its field day events that include general displays and auctions.
Yorke Peninsula Merino Breeders have a proven track record of producing early maturing, large framed sheep with strong constitution and excellent white stylish heavy cutting wool.
Wool and meat prices continue to improve and it is a great time for the commercial producer to select from the high quality on the Yorke Peninsula.
Yorke Peninsula Merino Breeders continue to buy quality rams and semen from the best sources to ensure that they are breeding sheep that make dollars for you, the client.
We are proud of the sheep we produce on Yorke Peninsula and the Merino breeders continue to provide new genetics for the clients who continue supporting their local Merino breeders.
A sincere ‘thank you’ to our individual sponsors for their ongoing support. We look forward to seeing you at our field days so you can experience the Yorke Peninsula hospitality.

Eyre Peninsula Merino and Poll Pre-Sale Expo
Where: Wudinna Showground Sheep Pavillion
When: Monday 3rd July
Times: From 10am. Food available.
On Monday July 3rd, our association will be holding its annual Merino and Poll Merino Expo at Wudinna with about 200 rams on display.
Eyre Peninsula continues to be a popular area to source genetics. I am sure your sire requirements can be sourced from our members' studs.
The dual purpose EP Merinos and Poll Merinos continue to lead the way for profitability with early maturing progeny that produce heavy carcase and fleece weights.
I believe the future of our true dual purpose Merino has never been better, with strong meat and wool prices. I would like to congratulate our members for their dedication to the Merino industry.
I would like to personally invite you to our annual expo at Wudinna, inspection days and annual ram sales later in the year.
On behalf of the Association, I would like to acknowledge the generous support of our major sponsors Elders and gold sponsor Landmark and our silver and bronze sponsors. Please support the sponsors that support us.
I wish all members a successful ram selling season in 2017 in what I expect to be a successful year for all involved.
South East Merino Field Day
What: South East Merino Field Day
Where: Keith Stadium, on-property
When: Wednesday, 26 July 2017
Demand for dual-purpose sheep has seen SE stud members sought out by sheep producers far and wide. The sale of rams, genetic material and ewes has spread the benefits of South East Merinos to many different areas of SA and beyond. The quality of stock produced using SE Merinos can be clearly demonstrated at the yearly female sales whereby ewes are attracting much interest and demand.
Food and drinks will be available at the venue throughout the day to make the day enjoyable and rewarding for all visitors.
I wish to thank all members whose efforts make the South East display of Merinos a talking point among stud and commercial producers.

Karoonda and Districts Field Day
Where: Murray Bridge Show Grounds
When: Friday 28th July 2017
Karoonda and Districts Stud Merino Field Day Association will hold its feature event at Murray Bridge Showground on Friday 28th of July from 10am – 4pm, 80km from Adelaide.
We invite you all to view, discuss, and understand the genuine capabilities of the Mallee Merino.
On display will be a high standard of robust sheep that have performed extremely well in all areas. Producers in the area have invested strongly in their A.I. and E.T. programs to ensure further genetic gain.
Committed to achieving sustainable profitability, these producers have always understood the importance and potential of the dual-purpose Merino. A significant proportion of members from the group have exhibited a consistently high standard of being competitive in dual-purpose classes in Adelaide and Bendigo.
Last year saw strong on-property sales with excellent clearances and averages. As a group these bloodlines feature in topping sheep sales all over the State.
With the wool market as good as I have ever seen it and good meat prices there is a huge amount of confidence in our industry. All that we need is a good opening in 2017 to get up going.
We look forward to seeing another great turnout.
